Cook Roos Wilbur Thompson LLP believes strongly in supporting our community, and does so in a variety of ways. The Firm provides ongoing pro bono legal services to a number of non-profit organizations. One of the Firm's largest pro bono clients is Yosemite National Institutes, which offers state of the art environmental education programs to thousands of diverse students at three national parks, including the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Yosemite National Park, and Olympic National Park in the state of Washington. The Firm also currently provides pro bono legal services to the Marines' Memorial Association, which describes itself as a "living memorial" to honor America's war heroes. In the past, our firm has provided pro bono legal services to Coyote Point Museum for Environmental Education, a learning center that provides educational experiences to the Bay Area community through wildlife, exhibits, programs and gardens, and to United Way of the Bay Area. The Firm's associates are encouraged to work on pro bono matters, and are given full billable hour credit for their pro bono work.

In addition to pro bono legal services, the Firm actively participates in and contributes to a number of organizations. Tracy Thompson sits on the board of Yosemite National Institutes. Susie Roos was a long time board member of the Coyote Point Museum. Mike Wilbur previously served on the Human Resources committee for United Way of the Bay Area and he also previously served on the board of United Way of the Bay Area.

Recently, Cook Roos Wilbur Thompson LLP supported the United Negro College Fund through an event sponsored by a major client; the Firm made a contribution to an elementary school in Oakland so that its third grade classes could attend a full day program at the Headlands Institute in appreciation for the art work a student created for our annual holiday card; Cook Roos Wilbur Thompson LLP, along with Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, has also adopted an inner city elementary school in San Francisco so that the entire school would be able for the first time to attend the Headlands Institute; and for many years the Firm and one of its founding partners, John Cook, actively supported the Oakland I Have a Dream Foundation.
